THE 153RD GREEN SUNDAY CAMPAIGN AND SUPPORTING THE KICKOFF OF THE 2024 SUMMER VOLUNTEER CAMPAIGNS, WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY ON JUNE 5TH.
On the morning of May 26th, amidst the vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, the students of the Foreign Language Faculty welcomed the 8th Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Delegates of the Foreign Language Department for the term 2024-2027. Additionally, they participated in the launch of the 2024 District 7 Summer Volunteer Campaign and World Environment Day on June 5th. The Department's Student Union, in collaboration with the Tan Thuan Tay Ward Youth Union, successfully organized the 153rd Green Sunday Campaign of 2024 with a positive and proactive spirit, engaging in practical and meaningful projects and tasks such as:
The campaign included cleaning and sanitation efforts, collecting debris, addressing stagnant water points to ensure smooth flow in the Bần Đôn canal, the Sài Gòn aquaculture pond in the Nguyen Van Linh area;
Launching cleaning and sanitation efforts and planting additional greenery at the Youth Playground in alley 178 Nguyen Van Linh.
With a view to enhancing the role of citizens in environmental protection in accordance with the spirit of Directive No. 19-CT/TU dated October 19, 2018, issued by the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee on implementing the campaign "People of Ho Chi Minh City do not litter on the streets and canals, for a clean, green, and environmentally friendly city," and in line with the spirit of "Unity, Unity, Great Unity" amidst the current situation of dengue fever becoming a hot issue as the city enters the rainy season, a high-intensity campaign has been launched to prevent and control dengue fever, aiming to further raise public awareness in cleaning up waste, treating stagnant water points, and reducing dust to improve the living environment. This initiative aims to prevent the outbreak of dengue fever in the community and contribute to making Ho Chi Minh City a "Friendly, Safe, and Healthy" environment.
